Tell us here! | No one knew that number a year ago—but now it's clear that 350 might as well be the most important number for the future of the planet. If we can swiftly get the planet on track to get to 350, we can still avert the worst effects of climate change. To do this we need an international agreement to reduce carbon emissions fast. The United Nations is working on a treaty, which is supposed to be completed in December of 2009 at a conference in Copenhagen, Denmark. This would involve building solar arrays instead of coal plants, planting trees instead of clear-cutting rainforests, increasing efficiency and decreasing our waste. | EarthSmiles.net is working towards the 350 goal with carbon-cutting campaigns like The CFL Campaign (which will provide measurable data on actual reduction), a Cartridge recycle program in schools and offices.
